Runner Up Rooftop Bar (operated by The Trustee for Twelve Hands Unit Trust, ABN 72 536 071 535) — “Runner Up”, “we”, “us” — respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you make a booking enquiry (Reservations or Private Events), we collect what you enter in the form: your name, email address, phone number, company or business name (if given), the occasion, number of guests, your preferred dates and times, and any comments.

When you browse the site, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city or region), the type of device and browser, and how people found us. This uses cookies and does not tell us who you are.

We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), which uses cookies to measure how well our ads work and to show our ads to people who have visited the site.

We don’t collect payment details on this website.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry, and to confirm, change or decline your booking.
• To plan your visit or event with you.
• To understand and improve the website and our advertising (Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel).

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t add you to marketing emails because you made an enquiry. You’ll only get our newsletter if you sign up for it yourself.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and handle enquiries. They process information for us and aren’t allowed to use it for their own purposes:

• Google — our email (Google Workspace), the spreadsheet where we keep track of booking enquiries (Google Sheets), and Google Analytics.
• Our website host — Network Dynamics, where the website and its enquiry records are stored.
• Mailchimp — only if you sign up to our newsletter, which you do on Mailchimp’s own page.
• Meta — the Meta Pixel, as above.

Some of these providers store information outside Australia (for example in the United States). We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to Australian law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep booking enquiries for up to 12 months, then delete them. Records of confirmed bookings may be kept longer where we need them for our business records.

Cookies

Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel use cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The site works normally either way.

Links to other sites

Our site links to Instagram, Mixcloud, Google Maps and other services. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — the website uses HTTPS, enquiries are visible only to our administrators, and access to our email and spreadsheet is limited to staff who need it.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at liam@runnerup.net.au and we’ll respond within 30 days.

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to sort it out. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992).
